Jani Hoberg (Studio #17)

I work with copper plates to create etchings that are inked up and printed via my etching press to cotton paper, my editions are limited to 25 or so. I am influenced by the great outdoors around Oregon and Oahu. Images form dance and the beach blend with organic images in my etchings.  I use  sketchbooks to record and start the image process using markers and watercolors.

While at Lewis and Clark college I realized I could transfer my figure drawings to a plate, print the image and continue to rework the image on the plate creating a visual diary of my thought process. I continue to work this way.

During the Lake Oswego Open  Studio event, I will be inking up plates and printing the images.
