Susana Santarone Sandmann (Studio #38)

As an intimate self portrait, Susana’s work aims to narrate emotions, memories, dreams, cultural impressions and experiences. Those narratives are rooted in the merging of two worlds at a personal level: her life growing up in Argentina and the life she built in this country. Figures of women are the dominant images in her work. They offer a rich canvas on which to express her narratives since it is through our bodies that we communicate some aspects of our identities. Susana finishes her ceramic pieces in diverse media, ranging from underglazes and overglazes, to artists’ oil paints, acrylics and encaustic.

Susana will be hosted by Sara Swink (Ceramics, Sculpture)
