Sheryl Riley (Studio #5)

I'd like to let you in on a little secret.  It took me a while to realize that I am an artist.  And by artist---I mean, the clay brings maximum joy into my life! And is teaching me so many things.  For example, every time I lay hands on the clay, things change and can never be the same.  For better or worse.  A reminder that everything we say, do, or think has an effect on the universe.

Many years ago a dear friend died and her angels asked me to craft urns to hold ashes for her children.  With no prior clay experience, this project took me on a long journey to the present time.  I'm so grateful to have been given a cosmic nudge to explore the clay arts and am enjoying working on a variety of sculptural and functional projects in my home studio.

NOTE: Located in the alleyway between 2nd and 3rd Streets and A and B Avenues

Sheryl will be hosted by Ingrid Dohm (Painting)
