Susan Borger (Studio #38)
My medium is fabric. I respond to the weave, the color, the texture! In my recent abstract sewn wall constructions, I’m referencing the quilt structure. My primary resources are commercial fabrics and deconstructed garments. Most often my process is improvisational, machine-stitching elements together, leaving clues to origins, looking for alignments, juxtapositions, and using the composition as a ground for additional layers of pattern.
