Amy Turpin (Studio #37)

I create functional ceramics using hand-building techniques. My background in geology and love of art naturally led me to an appreciation of working with clay and the crystallization that occurs during the firing process. I let my need for functional pieces dictate what I will create, refining my technique to develop colorful, textural ceramics that also wear well in the home. My desire to only use the simplest tools during the hand-building process allows my imagination to continuously evolve through playing with the clay.

Amy will be hosting Becky Dawson (Ceramics, Drawing, Painting)
