Caroline Sainis (Studio #39)
I am Caroline Sainis, a folk artist based in Lake Oswego. I work primarily with acrylic paint. My art is a celebration of cross-cultural expressions, drawing inspiration from the folk arts of North and South America, and India. Through playful fusion, I highlight the similarities between these diverse art forms and the rich tapestry of people and cultures they represent. Each of my bright and light-hearted paintings narrates a simple yet profound story of love, friendship, family, and unity, intricately woven with elaborate details in a minimalist form. I create to reflect the inherent beauty of the world, aiming to ignite joy through my art. My journey in art began in Boston, where I explored various creative avenues from poetry to pottery. However, it was my experiences in India, particularly immersed in the Gond and Madhubani arts, that deepened my passion for vibrant colors and whimsical folk art. My artwork is a reflection of my family and the joy I find in everyday life.

Caroline will be hosting Lilly Parker and Katie Ross (Painting).
