Carrie Clegg Gilbert (Studio #35)
Carrie Clegg Gilbert is a printmaker and mixed-media artist in West Linn, OR. Her work attempts to make sense of humans' complex relationship with the natural world by juxtaposing images of nature with artifacts of humanity's attempts to quantify, predict, or otherwise understand it, such as maps, textbooks, gardening references, and other abstractions. Her creative process and its related research has led her to learn about various systems aimed at demystifying natural phenomena, from ancient calendars to sustainable agriculture, backyard birding to topographic maps, with various stops in between.
Carrie will be hosting Beate Scheller (Drawing, Printmaking, Painting, Mixed Media).
