Jimmy Krozel (Studio #4)
Jimmy Krozel has been influenced by the Bay Area Figurative Art movement of the 50s and 60s. Starting with figurative drawings at Purdue University (Ph.D., A.A.E, 1992) in the late 80s and early 90s, he began to work with the figure in the studio, in public spaces – cafe poetry readings in particular - and in settings completely made up in his mind. He works with a wide variety of multi-layered, colorful, and expressionistic marks, and works on paintings from large to small. Influences: Park, Diebenkorn, Brown (mentor), Wonner, McGaw, and Oliveira.
