Mirta Wymerszberg (Studio #40)
I'm a professional musician born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I've been a resident in Seattle WA for over 23 years. I lead Sol De Noche, a band that plays Tango, Argentinean folk and my own songs in Spanish. I play flute, bandoneon and vocals.
Over the years I've used my craft skills to design clothes and puppets and props for my music productions, among them, Tango shows and three bilingual children's shows (Spanish/English), related to Latino history and culture. I'm the recipient of 2 City Artist Grants (Seattle) and recorded 3 cds.
About 3 years ago I started making Textile collages with three main themes: nature tree fires, City landscapes and imaginary ocean creatures.
My dream is to develop a workshop where anybody could join and we may create in a circle as a way of healing therapy.
